An ultra sound equipment installed at a height of 80 m/s above sea water surface sends out ultrasound that returns from the sea water is 1500m/s and that through air is 320m/s then the depth of sea at that place is?

Time taken by ultrasound to reach the sea bed = 5.4/2= 2.7s

Now Distance=Speed×time

So time=D/S

Time taken to cross air = 80/320=0.25s

Time of ultrasound in sea =2.7-0.25= 2.45s

D=S×T

Depth of sea =speed of sound in sea×time

1500m/s×2.45s=3675m
