An ultrasonic signal is sent from a ship towards the bottom of the sea. It is received back after 15 seconds.
What is the depth of the sea? (Given speed of sound in sea water is 1530 m/s).

Answer:

The signal traversed the distance between the ship and the bottom of the sea twice. So it hit the bottom of the sea at 1.5/2=0.75 seconds.
