Answer:

840 sq-cm of cloth is required .

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of triangle when all sides are given can be calculated by the Hero's Formula

\boxed{Area \: of \: triangle =  \sqrt{S(S - a)(S - b)(S - c)}}\\  \\

S= Semi-perimeter

a,b,c are sides of triangle

Area of given triangle a=17 cm

b= 17 cm

c= 16 cm

S =  \frac{a + b + c}{2}  \\  \\S  =  \frac{17+17+16}{2}  \\  \\S  = 25 \\  \\

Area of 1 triangular part:

{Area \: of \: triangle =  \sqrt{25(25-17)(25-17)(25-16)}}\\\\

 =\sqrt{25 \times 7 \times 7 \times 9}  \\  \\  = 5 \times 3 \times 7 \\  \\  = 15 \times 7 \\  \\ =105 \:  {cm}^{2}  \\  \\

Total cloth required to make umbrella

 = 8 \times 105 \\  \\  = 840 \:  {cm}^{2}  \\  \\

Hope it helps you.
