An unit incense stick (agarbatti) gives smell only when we come close to it but on lighting the stick we get smell even far away from it, why?

This is because when we burn the incense stick it changes its form from solid to gaseous form and mix with the air molecules and there is much gap between the atoms of air it moves constantly here and there and goes inside our nose while breathing.
