After passing from first nicol the intensity will be reduce by 50%

I  =   I′/2

Then it will pass from second nicol

According to Malus' law ,

I = I′ cos^2θ

I = I′/2 x cos^2 60°

 = I′/2 x 1/4

 = I′/8
