cities is assign a numeric value, Total value of the letters in each city gives the corresponding distance. Signpost
indicates distance 186 km for AMBALA, 168 km for DELHI, 231 km for JAIPUR and 198 km for ROPAR while
other distances are missing.

Take base value of A as x

For every increase in alphabet: +1

Therefore for AMBALA:

x + x+12 + x+1 + x + x+11 + x=186

6x + 24=186

Dividing By 6:

x + 4=31

x=27// (i.e. A=27)

For AJMER:

x + x+9 + x+12 + x+4 + x+17

= 5x + 42

= 135 + 42

= 177//

For PART 30, use the same substitution, don't need to calculate each completely just leave it at a (ax + b) form and compare.

Note; For the 5th alphabet, it's x+4, not x+5
