An urn contains 2 white,3 black and 2 red balls. Three balls are drawn one by

one without replacement. Let X denote the number of white balls, Y denotes

number of black balls. Then obtain the joint distribution of the two variables X

and Y.​

■ Total no. of white balls ⟹ 2

Black balls ⟹ 3

Red balls ⟹ 2

● If white balls are denoted by ⟹ x

And, Black balls are denoted by ⟹ y

⟹ So,

□ Joint contribution of x and y = 2 + 3 = 5

☆ Hence,

the equation will become ⟹

x + y = 5
