Given,

red balls=5

green balls=7

therefore,n(s)=12

Now,

The probability of getting a red ball in the next draw

i.e, n(E)=number of red balls by total number of balls

=5/12

5/12 is the probability of getting a red ball in the next draw

Step-by-step explanation:

An urn contains 5red and 7 green balls

=> Red balls = 5

    Green Balls = 7

   Total Balls = 12

There are two cases that in first Draw either Red or green Ball is drawn

Case 1 : Red ball is Drawn

Probability = 5/12

Now this red ball & addition red ball has been placed Back

so Urn has now   6 Red Balls   &  7 Green Balls

Probability of Red Ball = 6/13

Probability = (5/12)(6/13)  = 30/156

Case 2 Green ball is Drawn

Probability = 7/12

Now this green ball & addition green ball has been placed Back

so Urn has now   5 Red Balls   &  8 Green Balls

Probability of Red Ball  = 5/13

Probability = (7/12)(5/13)  = 35/156

probability of getting a red ball in the next draw is  30/156 + 35/156

= 65/156

= 5/12
