Blue pen : 60
Red pen :40
Total pen: 100
Let event A , be probability of getting defective pen or red pen.

p(A)=20/100
=0.2

harisj58: it says defective "or" a red pen not "and"..
harisj58: don't you think that affects the answer?

Answer:

P(blue) : 60/100

P( red). : 40/100

P(defective) : (20+30)/100

P(defective or red) : 50/100 + 40/100 - 20/100 = 7/10
