Given :-

  • Anagha’s mother bought an equal number of ladoos and pedas.
  • She put 1/3 of ladoos and 1/5 of pedas into a packet and gave it to Anagha to distribute at school.
  • There were a total of 80 sweets in the packet.

To Find :-

  • How many ladoos did Anagha’s mother buy ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, Anagha's mother bought total x ladoos and x pedas . { Equal number of both .}

given that, She put 1/3 of ladoos and 1/5 of pedas into a packet .

So,

→ Ladoos she put in packet = (1/3) of x = (x/3) ladoos.

→ Pedas she put in packet = (1/5) of x = (x/5) pedas.

Than,

→ Total sweets in packet was = (x/3) ladoos + (x/5) pedas = (x/3) + (x/5) = (5x + 3x)/15 = (8x/15)

given that, There were a total of 80 sweets in the packet.

Therefore,

→ (8x/15) = 80

→ 8x = 80 * 15

dividing both sides by 8,

→ x = 10 * 15

→ x = 150 . (Ans.)

Hence, Anagha’s mother buy 150 Ladoos .
