1. chhotanagpur region of india has the highest mineral concentration in india which is the western odisha, jharkhand, chhattisgarh and parts of madhya pradesh.

2. there are many rivers draining this place like the subarnarekha, kharkai, damodar, kosi etc which give the companies abundant scope to flourish and thrive.

3. the population density is also comparatively low and the forest lands also cover a large area. so no human settlement will be displaced as ample land is available.

4. this region is also place to cheap and accessible labour as the unemployment raye is high in the region.

5. this place is also connected to the major routes and the coast of odisha and bengal provide facilities for the transportation of goods and import or export of things.

6. they are also rich in coal reserve for the fuel.

these features favoured the concentration of iron and steel industry in chhotanagpur. famous industries have flourished in Rourkela, Burnpur, Bhilai, Durgapur,Bokaro, etc
