Explanation:The Turks are often credited for the beginning of the Muslim rule in India.During their initial period they were barbaric and believed in the power of arms.They soon transformed themselves into more sophisticated people and thus preserved the characteristics of the Islamic culture .
Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni became the first Turkish king to enter into India. He successfully broke the military prowess of the Hindus and even looted the Indian wealth.
There were various reasons which helped Turkish to make a strong foothold in India.
1) India was politically divided. Many kingdoms which engaged in fighting against each other for the sake of fame and territorial expansion. Inspite of the presence of some of the powerful kingdoms none pose a threat to Mahmud as all of them were involved in sorting out their internal conflicts which did not allow them to fully utilise their potential against the Turkish.
2) India was socially divided into various castes and sub-castes which led to sharp differences between different sections of the society. This ultimately weakened the society. The women were also illtreated and were seen as an object of enjoyment for men. Child marriages, practice of Sati culture and various other custom weakened the society which helped Islam in converting a large number of them into their religion.
3) On the religion front both Buddhism and Hinduism suffered on account of corruption and ignorance. The upper class often engaged themselves in corrupt practices which gave away the the true spirit of religion and were seen more into wordly materials

These points helped Turks to establish their kingdom in the country. It became easy for them to find the scopes and use the tricks to establish a successful kingdom in India.
