→A militant guerilla movement spread in Gudem Hills of Andrha Pradesh in 1920s
Reasons:-
1). The colonial government had closed a large tract of forest areas to prevent people from entering the forest for grazing,to collect firewood or fruits. This enraged the hill people as it affected their livelihood and traditional way of living.
2).When the government began forcing them to contribute to begar for road building,the hill people revolted.
Tʜᴇɪʀ Lᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ
→ Alluri Sitaram Raju was their leader who claimed to have a variety of superpowers. He could make correct astrological predictions and heal people
→Raju was inspired by gandhi but he did not believed in non violence. He wanted to free india through violence.
