The Gudem rebellion spread in response to The Non Cooperation Movement in 1921. In the Gudem hills of Andhra Pradesh, the Militant guerrila movement spread under the leadership of Alluri Sitaram Raju against the forest laws. The rebel proclaimed that he had special powers and also proclaimed that he was an incarnation of God as he could make correct astrological predictions and hear people. Raju talked of greatness of Mahatma Gandhi and inspired by the Non Cooperation Movement and also persuaded people to wear Khadi and give up drinking. But at the same time he asserted that India could be liberated only by the use of force and not by the non-violence. The Gudem rebels attacked police stations, attempted to kill British officials and carried guerrila warfare for achieving Swaraj. Raju was arrested and executed in 1924 and overtime became a hero

Hope this will help u... :-)
