rabindranath tagore made a significant role in literature. he was the first person outside europe to get the nobel prize. He wrote stories, novels, essays, etc HE is well known as a poet. his stories nd poems are very popular. his work has rhythmic, optimistic and lyrical nature. mostly the subjects matter for his stories is derived from the lives of ordinary people.

he wrote his first story when he was of 16yrs old.
