Answer:
Explanation:
Ibn Battuta was born on 25th February 1304. He was a Muslim Moroccan scholar who traveled extensively during the medieval world. He traveled almost all of the Islamic world and even non-Muslim lands which included Southeast Asia, Central Asia, South Asia and China.
During his travelling days he came across slavery which was reflected in his travelling notes. Slaves were openly traded like any other commodities in the market and were even exchanged as gifts on a regular basis. According to the accounts presented by him slaves were treated differently from each other.
For instance some of the slaves(female) were made to do domestic work while others were trained to become expert in music and dance to perform in Sultan`s court. At times slaves were also used to keep an eye on the nobles and even for carrying palanquins. The price of the female slaves engaged in domestic labor were often low. Female slaves were mostly those who were captured during expedition or raids.
Hope this helps.
