How does caste system impacts the politics in India?

Yes indeed !
Caste has affected indian politics from its root. All political calculation is based on caste in india. You see almost every decision is taken in view of reservation (caste). There are many so called dalit leaders and a particular caste leaders and they exist only because of caste politics. Dalit/Caste leaders have nothing in their mind except….
“dalito pe atyachar ho rahe hai 5000 years se”,
“Hume reservation milna chahiye har sector me” private sector/Public sector, judiciary, and anything any place of benifit and power they want reservation there.
All political parties use caste as vote banks,
Surprisingly, these dalit and caste leaders get all theirs desires fulfilled, they became Mukhiya/Sarpanch to President (Current President of India) just because of his caste. They became billionaire. On the other hand dalits and particular caste get nothing in return of their vote and faith on their respective leaders.
We Indians are so attached to our castes that we blindly give vote on caste basis.
The result of this caste dominating politics in india :
Morality died !
Only caste appeasement no development.
Good leaders don't win caste leaders win the elections.
Division of India on the caste basis. Fraternity among all caste in decreasing.
No change in reservation system just because of caste politcs. Though everyone accepts reservation should bo on the basis of economic condition.
Quality murdered everywhere! Be it in politics, education, health, science and technology, Engineering, Govt. Offices etc.
Nepotism
Denies Progressive society and maintains Status Quo.
Frustration in General caste.
Every issue is seen in the framework of caste and many more bad and negative effect of caste politcs can be described.
Nowadays fashion of Bharat Band !
“Untill we reject this caste politcs in India, forget good leaders, forget development, forget honesty and morality in politics and forget One India One Nation”
Thanks !
Answer:
Caste system has been well entrenched in Indian society from time immemorial and has brought about worst kind discrimination and exclusion of the out caste group who were subjected to inhuman treatment and injustice.
Caste has also emerged as major vote bank factor during elections. Political parties try to muster support on the basis of caste by exploiting the caste sentiments of the people, fielding candidates of a particular caste to reach out to more and more people.
We have seen conflict in the society with politics been divided into pro reservation and anti reservation group. We have seen rise of many caste based groups who with the support of caste based parties, have been influencing the decisions of the government.
Explanation:
We know that caste is a closed group. The powerful upper castes have the access to all property and all power while the lower castes are devoid are all rights. This contradiction sows the seed for the caste based politics.
While the upper castes uses politics to keeps its societal hierarchy intact by grabbing the highest political seats. The lower castes uses politics to win back the their rights that they have been devoid of. And so caste and politics becomes almost inseparable.
