There were drastic changes in the world politics after the Second World War. Some of the major developments are :
1. Cold war : After the World War II, the world got divided into two blocks--Capitalist Block led by US and the Communist Block led by Russia. They were in ideological war and both tried to spread their respective ideologies all over the world. After the disintegration of Soviet Block in 1991, US became the super power of the World i.e the shift from bi-polarity to uni-polarity.
2. UNO : After the end of Second World War, UN was founded on 24th October, 1945 with the aim to establish pace and to end all the disputes peacefully.
3. End of Imperialism : The imperialist domination got disintegration and the hegemony of Europe over the world collapsed. many counties in Asia and Africa got independence.
4. Democracy : The ideology of democracy and democratic principles began to spread all over the world. Human rights and welfare measures became the focus of the state.
5. Arms Race : During the Cold war and after wards there began arms race among the nations. In order to be secure, the counties were in a race to make more and more destructive weapons.
6. Economic Development : The economy in some counties like Japan, US and Germany made a great progress and the gap between these counties and newly independent countries became more widened.
