Following are some of the major developments in world politics after the World War II :

1.  Cold War : Cold war was the major development after the World War II. The world got divided into two blocks--US Block and Soviet Union Block. Both these blocks wanted to spread their respective ideology and were in constant ideological war for a long time. Finally Soviet Block disintegrated in 1991.

2.  Establishment of Military Alliances : Military alliances like NATO and Warsaw Pact were established by US Block and Soviet Union.

3.  UN : UN Organisation was founded to bring peace and settle the disputes peacefully.

4.  End of Imperialism : The imperialist domination got disintegration and the hegemony of Europe over the world collapsed.

5.  Independence : As the imperialism ended, many counties in Asia and Africa got independence from the colonial rule.

6.  Arms Race : Arms Race was another major development after the World War II. All the states wanted to be secure and safe from others and thus began to made more and more destructive weapons.
