Scholars have seen that in Harappan seals, there is a one line of writing containing the name and title of the owner, and the motifs usually of animals were probably made for people who are unable to read and so, has some meaning. These scripts were written from right to left, as their is a spacing in the right and cramping on the left. The signs used on scripts were probably not alphabetical i.e they don't have vowels and consonants. Most of the inscriptions were short and the longest one found had 26 signs.
