A few social causes were
1. the society was divided into three estates. the first estate consisted of the clergy (church priests)
2nd estate consisted of noblemen
3rd estate consisted of 3 classes namely rich businessmen, poor businessmen and peasants.
2.the people of the third estate did not like being divided into estates. the first and second estate consisted of 10% of France's population. and 3rd estate made up 90% of it.
3.the king would give away land for free for contribution and service towards him.
This was called as feudalism. the landlords of the gift lands would make peasants work there and force them to give crops and money as taxes.
