The essay is divided into two halves - one supports cultural studies and the other half opposes cultural studies as a part of the university curriculum.
Miller lists the social and cultural benefits of graduates studying multiple disciplines such as literature, music, arts and craft. It will make them intellectually superior to third world students.
He also warns us about students getting exhausted by the burden of additional subjects which are irrelevant to their career choices. He also points out at the waste of time and human resources in teaching culture at the university.
