In indian constitution we have bi-cameral system of parliament consisting of Lok sabha as lower house and Rajya sabha as upper house. Each of these houses are assigned different jobs and powers to construct and destruct laws and provisions of the constitution. However there are many situations where they get treated as equal, some of them are:

Members of both houses can become part of council of ministers and also can take up the prime minister position.

Emergency if proclaimed should be approved by both the houses.

Proclamation of failure of constitutional machinery in a state.

Ordinary bills may be introduced in any of the houses and have to be passed in both the houses before presenting to president.

Amendment to constitution should be approved by both the houses by 2/3rd majority.

Both houses play equal role in president and vice-president election and their impeachment, removal of supreme Court and high court judges, CAG, CEC etc.

Open for suggestions………

hope its help you
