Anand leaves his house at 8.30 A.M for his school. The school is 2 km away and classes start at 9.00 A.M. If he walks at a speed of 3 km/h for the first kilometre, at what speed should he walk the second kilometre to reach just in time? with formula.​

distance =2 kilometre

total time = 30 minutes=0.5 hourintial

speed is equal to 3 kilometres per hour for the first hour hence time taken =distance/speed=1/3 h time left=0.5 -1/3=0.5/3 distance left = 1 km hence speed at which he should walk second km would be 1/(0.5/3)= 6 km per hour.
