\large\underline{\sf{Solution-}}

Given that,

Ananyan wants to purchase a new tab for his online classes. He purchased it for 38640 inclusive of 8% VAT.

Let assume that price of tab before vat be x

Vat % = 8 %

So,

\rm\implies \:Vat = \dfrac{8}{100}x = \dfrac{2x}{25} \\

Now, Purchase price = 38640

We know,

\rm \: Purchase \: price \:  =  \: Original \: price \:  +  \: Vat

So, on substituting the values, we get

\rm \: 38640 = x + \dfrac{2x}{25} \\

\rm \: 38640 = \dfrac{25x + 2x}{25} \\

\rm \: 38640 = \dfrac{27x}{25} \\

\rm \: x = \dfrac{38640 \times 25}{27}  \\

\rm\implies \:x = 35777.78 \:  \:  \: (approx.) \\

So, Price of tab without vat is 35777.78 (approx.)

Given :

  • Ananyan purchased new tab for 38640 Rs inclusive of 8% VAT.

To Find :

  • Price of the tab without VAT

\large\underline{\sf{Solution-}}

Assume that :

  • Let the original price of new tab for his online classes = x Rs

Here ,

  • Price of new tab including VAT = 38640 Rs

  • Rate of VAT = 8 percent

So,

 \rm\implies \: \dfrac{S.P \times 100}{100 +VAT \%} = \:  \dfrac{38640 \times 100}{100 + 8} \\

 \rm \implies\:  \dfrac{38640 \times 100}{108} \\

\rm\implies \:  \dfrac{3864000}{108}\\

 \rm \implies{35777.78}(approx)

Or

 \rm\implies\:x + 8 \% \:  of  \: x =38640\\

 \rm\implies \: x +  \dfrac{8}{100} \times x = 38640\\

 \rm \implies\: \dfrac{108x}{100} = 38640\\

 \rm \implies\:x =  \dfrac{38640 \times 100}{108}\\

\rm\implies \:x = 35777.78 \:  \:  \: (approx.) \\

Therefore ,

  • The price of the tab without VAT is 35777.78 Rs
