Your Question:

Anastasia uses the equation p = 0.7(rh + b) to estimate the amount of take-home pay, p, for h hours worked at a rate of r dollars per hour and any bonus received, b. what is h?

Your Answer:

We need to solve for h or to make a equation for h.

\tt p = 0.7(rh + b)\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow p=\frac{7}{10}(rh+b)\\\\\tt \Rightarrow \frac{10p}{7}=rh+b\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow \frac{10p}{7}-b=rh\\\\ \tt \Rightarrow \frac{10p-7b}{7r}=h

Or

\tt h  = \frac{\frac{p}{0.7}-b}{r}

So option A seems to be the correct answer. Because h equals StartFraction p Over 0.7 EndFraction minus b divided by r

Given :   p = 0.7(rh + b)

To find : Equation for  h

Solution:

p = 0.7(rh + b)

p = Take home pay

r = rate of Dollars per hr

h = number of hours worked

b = bonus received

p = 0.7(rh + b)

=> p = 0.7rh +  0.7b

=> (p/0.7) = rh + b

=> rh = (p/0.7)  - b

=> h =  ( (p/0.7)  - b ) ÷ r

h =  ( (p/0.7)  - b ) ÷ r

or  h = ( p  - 0.7b) / (0.7 r)
