To find :

We have to find the Venn diagram for (A ∩ B)'.

Steps :

  • (A ∩ B) means the intersection of A and B, which represents the common region of both A and B.
  • Then, (A ∩ B)' represents the region in the universal set which excludes (A ∩ B).

Drawing :

  1. Draw two intersecting circles.
  2. Box them inside a rectangle.
  3. Mark each circle with A and B.
  4. Mark the rectangle as U as shown in the attachment.
  5. Point out A ∩ B.
  6. Shade the whole region except for A ∩ B.

Solution :

We see the required region for (A B)' as shaded in the given attachment. (A B)' means the region in the universal set which doesn't include (A B) and thus it is the total region of A' and B'.

(A B)' = A' U B'
