because when ethanol is heated with excess amount of concentrated H2 S o4 it give an unsaturated compound in c2h 4 concentrated H2 S o4 act as a dehydrating agent because it agent water from ethanol .

NOW, when ehanol reacts with sodium a colourless gas is evolved which is hydrogen gas.
