Anbu travelled A -> B -> C = 8.3 + 15.6 = 23.9 km

Mala travelled A-> D -> C = 16.9 +7.5 = 24.4 km

24.4 - 23.9 =0.5 km = 500 m

Hence, Mala travelled more distance than Anbu by 500 m or 0.5 km
