The Farmers and Herders were at the level just above the lowermost level of Slaves and Servants, in the level of hierarchy of ancient Egypt.

The hierarchical level in those days had the Pharaoh on top, at the first level. The government and high-ranking army officials, came in at the second level. They were followed by soldiers, writers (scribes), artisans and traders. Then came the farmers and herders, at the fourth level. Slaves and servants were on the lowermost and fifth level (levels being, first at the top and fifth at the bottom).
