The ancient methods which were used to conserve the natural resources are:

- Rainwater Harvesting: When there is a rain the rain water is stored in order to provide water to the fields or for the irrigation purposes so that there won't be any shortage of water.

- When the cultivation is being done by the farmers there is a construction of the terraces by the hill farmers so that the farming can be done on mountains, the land there is uneven so this strategy is used in order to reduce the problem of soil erosion also this method is adopted.

- Watershed management is another way in which the management of the resources is being done to forests and ecosystems so that the trees can be saved from cutting and more trees can be grown in order to have a more healthy environment.

- Manuring: This is also a way of fertilizing the land, the excrement of the animals is used in order to fertilize the land and the plants, this method was more popular in ancient times when the fertilizers were not easily available now they are still used in villages.
