In the play, “Pygmalion” Shaw remarks on the ability of the person to defeat the limits placed on the basis of arrangements of class and gender.  the transformation of Liza from being a flower girl to that of a Duchess reflects the process that how an individual can be dehumanized through the process of socialization. there are many instances from which it can be inferred that the character of the person is judged by the society on the basis of gender and class.  the character Henry Higgins is assumed to be wealthy and educated at the same time but on the other hand he is unsympathetic towards the poor.
