The condition ofpeople in seemapuri was very sombre.They had no footwear no education they used to roam around barefoot and they were engaged in ragpicking .Ragpicking was only the way to earn their livelihood small children scrounge on heaps of garbage searching for valuable thing coin or a ten rupee note. Seemapuri is located in the outskirts of Delhi. Seemapuri was occupied by squatters from Bangladesh in 1971. They are basically refugees from Bangladesh and they involved themselves in rag picking for their survival. These people lived in mud structures with roofs made of tin and tarpaulin. They lived illegally without any identity or permits. The ration cards were provided to them which helped them to buy grains to meet their family needs.
