Important events that took place before Independence of India from British were=>
1)The timeline of Indian Independence history lies in between 1867 to 1947.In year 1947 India finally got its independence.
2)Some of the major events that took place during British rule which led to a whole new wide protest against British are=>
a)Partition Of Bengal
-The decision to divide Bengal was took on 19July 1905 and during that time Viceroy of India was Lord Curzon.
-It took place on 16 October 1905 which divided the muslims and hindus of Bengal.
-As we know that the main motive of British was to DIVIDE AND RULE and on seeing India becoming United in the struggle against British,they feared and decided to divide Begal to rule effectively and create conflicts among Indians.
b)Jalliawala Bagh Massacare
-This can be said to be the most brutal and cruel step taken in Indian History during British rule which helped in shaping the movement againt British.
-It took place on 13 July,1919, Amritsar (Punjab) and the incharge of this was General Dyer.
- On 13 July1919 there was a curfew announced by British against Indian Matryas and on the same day there was Baisakhi Festival which is main festival of Sikhs.And unknowly a group of people were present on the Jalliawala Bagh ground who were enjoying the festival.
But soon General Dyer reached there and he ordered to open fire in the crowd which led to 1000 death of the people and 1200 were injured.
c)Partition of India
-In 1947 during independence a pact was made that India has to be divided into two parts which was on religion=>
i) Republic of India=>Dominian of India
ii)Islamic Republic of Pakistan=>Dominian of Pakistan
