suppose Andy's present age be x

and his mother's present age be 6x

1st condition

x+5 = 1/3 × 6x

x+5 = 2x

2x - x = 5

x = 5

Therefore Andy's present age is 5 yrs.

Andy's mother's age = 6x

=6 × 5

=30
