Answer:

The amount in which  Aneesh spend altogether = $ 80.5

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that,

Aneesh spend 3/7 of his money on a shirt &

1/2 of the remainder on a pair of trousers.

He had $23 left

To find total money

Let  P be the total money in hand at beginning

The amount used to buy money for shirt = \frac{3P}{7}

The remaining money = \frac{4P}{7}

The amount used on a pair of trousers = \frac{1}{2}\frac{4P}{7}=\frac{4P}{14}

So we can write \frac{3P}{7}+\frac{4P}{14}+23=P

Solving we get, P = $ 80.5

The amount in which  Aneesh spend altogether

expenditure = $ 80.5 - $23 = $80.5

Answer:

$57.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Fraction of money spent of shirt = 3/7

Fraction of money left = 1 - 3/7 = 4/7

Fraction of money spent on a pair of trousers = 1/2 x 4/7 = 2/7

Fraction of money left = 4/7 - 2/7 = 2/7

Fraction of money spent on both = 3/7 + 2/7 = 5/7

Find the amount of money he spent:

Fraction of money left = 2/7

Fraction of money left = $23 (Given)

2/7 of the money = $23

1/7 of the money = 23 ÷ 2 = $11.50

5/7  of the money = 11.5 x 5 = $57.50

Answer: Aneesh spent $57.50 altogether.
