Fire and Ice are two opposite words used in the poem.but both are capable of destroying the whole world.Fire symbolizes words like greed, indifference, fury, cruelty, lust and conflict.Whereas ice symbolizes words like hatred, rigidity, coldness, insensitivity, cold behavior. Yes, hatred is enough to destroy the whole world and us. Hatred here means the feeling of one who hates.

Answer:both elements are destructive

Explanation:one group of thinkers believe that the core of the heart heats up leading to the destruction of earth surface. the other group believes that if the temperature goes down life on earth will not sustain which will have catasprophic effect. the poet compares human emotion like desire hatred cruelty etc and believes that all these factors will give man and no control over his emotions. if the world have to die twice the fire would have upper hand but he thinks that ice is also competive in destroying the world. the poet points out be in capability of human beings to be empathetic and sensitive while destroying once inner self . thus both elements are destructive both elements are destructiveExplanation:one group of thinkers believe that the core of the heart heats up leading to the destruction of earth surface. the other group believes that if the temperature goes down life on earth will not sustain which will have catasprophic effect. the poet compares human emotion like desire hatred cruelty etc and believes that all these factors will give man and no control over his emotions. if the world have to die twice the fire would have upper hand but he thinks that ice is also competive in destroying the world. the poet points out be in capability of human beings to be empathetic and sensitive while destroying once inner self . thus both elements are destructive
