Angle ABC = angle BCA

The length of side AB is (3x - 5) cm.
The length of side AC is (19 - x) cm.
The length of side BC is 2x cm.

Work out the perimeter of the triangle.
Give your answer as a number of centimetres.

Answer:

angle abc = bca

hence it is a isoceles triangle as its two angles

are equal

that means ab=ac , as the sides opposite to equal angles is equal in an isoceles triangle

means, 3x-5=19-x

further solving gives,

3x+x=19+5

now, 4x= 24

x= 6

now you can take out your answer

as bc = 12

ab= 18-5= 13

ac= 19-6= 13
