angle of elevation, θ = 45°

distance of the foot of chimney to the point P, d = 30 m

let the height of chimney is H

tanθ = height of chimney/d

⇒tan45° = H/30m

⇒1 = H/30m

⇒H = 30m

Therefore the height of chimney is 30 m.
