We know that,

If the angles are linear pair , it means that the sum of the angles is 180°..

x + y = 180°.......(1)

x - 2y = 30° ..... (2)

(1) - (2)

(x+y) - (x - 2y) = 180 - 30

x + y - x + 2y = 150

3y = 150

y = 150/3

→ y = 50° .

by putting the value of y in equation 1

x + y = 180

x + 50 = 180

x = 180 - 50

→ x = 130°
