Let total no. Of stamps = x

=Postcards = x-1/2

= Sister = x - 1/2 - 1/4

=4x-2-1 / 4

= 4x - 3 / 4

= 4x - 3 /4 = 9

= 4x - 3 = 36

= 4x = 36 +3

= 4x = 39

X = 39/4

X = 9/3
