Also, After 3 years ;

Anil's age will be x + 3

and his grandson age will be y + 3

Given ,after 3yeqrs he will be 8times his grandson's age

x + 3 = 8 ( y + 3 )

x + 3 = 8y + 24

x - 8y = 21 ... ( ii )

From ( i ) and ( ii )

11y - 8y = 21

4y = 21

y = 5.2

i.e, the age Anil = x = 11y = 11 ( 5.2) = 57.2

Hence , the age of Anil is 57 years 2 months !!
