2 and 1/2 = 5/2

Let, Anil's father age be, 'x'

∴ Anil's age = (x*1/3)

                  = x/3

After 5 years Anil's age will be = (x/3)+5

                                                  =(x+15)/3

After 5 years Anil's father's age will be = (x+5)

According to the problem,

5/2{(x+15)/3} = (x+5)

⇒(5x+75)/6 = (x+5)

⇒ 6(x+5) = 5x+75

⇒ 6x+30 = 5x+75

⇒ 6x-5x = 75-30

⇒ x = 45

∴ Anil's father's present age is 45 years.

∴ Anil's present age is = (45*1/3)

                                     = 15 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

2 and 1/2 = 5/2

Let, Anil's father age be, 'x'

∴ Anil's age = (x*1/3)

                  = x/3

After 5 years Anil's age will be = (x/3)+5

                                                  =(x+15)/3

After 5 years Anil's father's age will be = (x+5)

According to the problem,

5/2{(x+15)/3} = (x+5)

⇒(5x+75)/6 = (x+5)

⇒ 6(x+5) = 5x+75

⇒ 6x+30 = 5x+75

⇒ 6x-5x = 75-30

⇒ x = 45

∴ Anil's father's present age is 45 years.

∴ Anil's present age is = (45*1/3)

                                     = 15 years.
