the left end in a row of boys. Vikas is at
18th position from the right end. Gopal
is 11th from Anil towards the right and
3rd from Vikas towards the right end.

* From the given information we know that Anil is 16th from the left and Gopal is 11th towards the right of Anil so Gopal is at the 27th position from the left.

* Also, Gopal is 3rd to the right of Vikas who is 18th from the right end, so Gopal is at the 15th position from the right end.

* Therefore Gopal has 26 people towards his left and 14 people towards his right.

* The total number of boys is 26+14+Gopal = 41.
