Suppose Anil's age = X years ,

His father is five time older than Anil ,

which means that the age of Anil's father = 5 × Anil's age

i.e. 5 × x = 5x

So, 5x = 49 ,

So , x = 49/5 ,

= 9.8

So , Anil is Nine years and eight month old .
