Answer:1000

Step-by-step explanation:

Let , the amount Anil pays be = x  ,

So ,

Given :

• Anil sold an umbrella to Rohit at a gain of 20%  , So

• Rohit pays for umbrella  = x  + 20 % of x

=  x  + 20 x/100 = x + x/5 = 6x/5

Also given :

• Rohit sold the same umbrella to Yash at a loss of 10% , So

• Yash pays for umbrella  ;- 6x/5 - 10% of 6x/5

=> 6x/5 + ( 10 × 6x ÷ 5 ) / 100

=> 6x /5 - 2 × 6x/100

=> 6x/5 - 3x/25

=> 30x - 3x / 25

=> 27x/25

But given :

• Yash paid Rs 1080 for umbrella !

So ,

=> 27x / 25 = 1080

=> x = 1080 × 25/27

=> x = 40 × 25

=> x = 1000

Hence , ₹1000 is the amount which Anil pays for the Umbrella.
