Animal Poaching Essay

Animal poaching is the worst thing you can imagine for an animal species. We should not tolerate the aimless slaughter of these majestic beautiful creatures. Animal poaching is a barbaric, unnecessary and cruel way to gain easy money in our modern world. We need to stop this now before it’s too late. Many animals are affected by poaching and face extinction and both you and our governments need to do something now.

Money, the most desired addicting object that turns even the best people into addicts, threatens animal survival. Tigers are one of the most beautiful creatures imaginable but also highly valued for their uses which are to gain money because of inhumane, bloodthirsty, cruel poachers. Many poachers think its ok to take the life of a tiger, to sell it on the black market to fulfil their need for cash. This is very meaningful and hurts this animal without warning. A hundred years ago there were as many as 100 000 left in the wild, but now, there is as few as 3 200 left. Only 7% of historical tiger habitat still contains tigers. They were once found in Indonesia, India, China, Russian Far East and eastern Turkey, but now populate very small areas in these regions.

The demand for tiger parts poses the largest threat to tiger survival. This animal is being hunted to extinction for its skins, bones, teeth and claws, by snares that tare through flesh, fire arms and poison. The parts are highly valued for (TAM) Traditional Asian Medicine. Trafficking tiger parts is highly illegal. In the last 10 years 1000 tigers have been killed to traffic their parts to meet consumer demand in Asia. A single tiger part can fetch as much as $50 000 on the black market, which creates an even bigger target of these animals. This shows that people are effecting the tiger’s last chance of survival, they have been severely injured or killed for the black market. They are shipped off to make quick cash. The snares rip through flesh and grasp on to the bone so tight that it drives the tigers into eating or ripping their own claw off. Help us bring back the tigers. Help us save them from extinction, only with your help, can we make a difference and stop the poaching.
