INTRODUCTION:Heart is the muscular organ that pumps blood throughout the circulatory system. The force of contraction of the heart depends upon the muscles. YES,there is a relation between body weight and heart beat rate. EX:Blue Whale -wt of the body is 1,50,000kg;wt of the heart 750kg and number of beats/min is 7.

The Etruscan shrew has a very fast heart beating rate, up to 1511 beats/min (25 beats/s) and a relatively large heart muscle mass, 1.2% of body weight.

Because their big their heart is designed to beat and push warm blood slowly because they are big and do not need warmth because their area is huge compared to their surface needed to let heat out however smaller animals have in ratio smaller mammals have less surface and much more less area so unless they constantly have new warm blood they will die from being too cold,

This is not the case for cold blooded animals because they get their heat from the sun and other heat sources outside their body

Hope this will help you.. ✌
