Hetrotropic nutrition is seen in animals and the plants which doesn't perform photosynthesise.

Ex. Human beings, blue - green algae.

Autotropic nutrition is seen in plants which perform photosynthesise.

Animals which are capable of producing their own foods are termed as animal with autotrophic nutrition or autotrophs such as, algae, spyrogira etc.

Animals which are not capable of producing their own food and depend on others for food are called, animals with heterotrophic nutrition or heterotrophs such as mammals.
