The chapter 'The Bond of Love' is based on the love between an animal  and a human.Bruno who was a sloth bear was the narrator's wife's pet.She loved him dearly. She would give lots of food to him,she even put a colored ribbon around his neck. When Bruno was brought home he was a small cub,but soon as he grew big.people in the building and neighborhood started to complain.Bruno was then sent to the zoo.The narrator's wife missed Bruno a lot..The narrator's wife missed Bruno a lot.Bruno would not eat at all and was unhappy in the zoo.The narrator's wife visited the zoo after 3 months. Her friends though that Bruno would not be able to recognize her but he recognized her from a few yards after from his cage.Bruno howled in happiness. Narrator's wife and Bruno spent the whole day together but when it was time for the zoo to close both the narrator's wife and Bruno cried bitterly. The narrator's wife then convinced the curator to send Bruno back to her.The curator agreed and Bruno was brought back home. The narrator's wife spent the whole day with him. This shows that ''Animals also feel the pleasure of love and the pains of separation.''
